Cole Hayley is an award-winning writer and playwright from Newfoundland and Labrador.
He is a graduate of the playwriting program at the National Theatre School of Canada, and the co-artistic director of Scaredy Cat Theatre. His show, “Plays for the End of the World,” produced by Scaredy Cat, has been touring since 2023 (Undercurrents 2023/St. John’s Shorts 2023/Wildside 2024/rEvolver 2024.)
Cole received the 2023 Playwrights Guild of Canada’s Tom Hendry Emerging Playwrights Award. He has won the Arts and Letters Award twice, for his plays, & They All Melt into the Carpet (2024) and The Thin Place (2022). He is a member of the inaugural Poverty Cove playwrights unit and the 2023-2024 IATI Theatre Cimientos Play Development Program. He has attended the BANFF Playwright’s Lab and Playwrights Workshop Montreal’s Gros Morne Residency.
Cole’s work has appeared on stages all across Canada, and he made his United States debut in New York, Summer 2024.
